To embroider or not ....

Well ... I am undecided right now ... do I want to embroider some detail = or not.

Here I did one little row of embroider:

but then ... I thought I would add two more:

and now I can't decide if I like it ... here is a picture with and without the embroidering:

Aghhh ... what should I do???

If I was the type of person to move on to another project I would ... but I am not that gal. I tend to start one, and finish it before I move on. I think I am heading towards the plain - no embroider.

I guess I could sew the blocks together first, and then decide. It's just harder to work with them all sewn together. I will keep the one that I did embroider for a pillow ...

My husband thinks that the plain is better ...

A couple of random things

I was just going to post a list of 100 things and identify what I have done, want to do, and never want to do... but after it was done, it was WAY too long, and I know that no one would ever get through the whole thing ...

Insead, I will just tell you some quick random facts:

1. I have an insane love for all things chocolate.
2. I love blood and gore on tv, but in real life, I am totally squeemish.
3. Before kids I could sleep anywhere, anytime .. now - totally the lightest sleeper ever (so annoying), and once I am awake, can't fall back asleep.
4. I love to travel.
5. I love my job (most of the time).
6. I love animals.
7. I love reading other people's blogs .. but there has to be lots of pictures ...

so on that note, I am stopping, since there are no pictures to go with this post.S

Tallgrass Prairie Studio: A Neighborhood to Help a Neighborhood

I am not sure how many people would see this on my blog ... since I have only ever had two people comment ... but maybe someone out there will see this ...

Tallgrass Prairie Studio: A Neighborhood to Help a Neighborhood

Her quilts are beautiful, inspiring, and so much more. I am always looking to see what new and wonderful things are going on over at Tallgrass Prairie Studio!!

Single Girl Quilt

I am working on the Single Girl quilt (Denyse Schmidt designed it). I loved it so much when I first saw it, so I thought I would give it a go. Here is the pattern:

And here is piles of pattern pieces that I am trying really hard to keep organized:

And here are some finished partial circles:

P1140471

I have to say, I am mainly using the fabrics from Denyse Schmidt's Jump Rope collection, which is what she used in the version on the front of the pattern ... but, I have also thrown in a couple of other fun fabrics. I always like sticking to the design for the first quilt, and then venture out on my own if I make another.

I will make sure that I keep you up to date on this one. I don't know how some people finish up quilts in a day, and others have fun, beautiful projects that they finish every day. Perhaps I am slow, perhaps I need more time in a day (who doesn't??) .. perhaps I will never know.

Do you find that whatever you are working on for the moment is absolutely your most favorite thing ever? I sure do. Once I am done, it's not that I don't still love it, but rather I fall completely in love with whatever the next thing is that I am working on. Anyway - this is my most favorite thing right now.

I am back to quilt some more, so see you another day.

Have you read this yet .. well you need to

This family has been through so much. It made me cry, and it will make you cry too. It made me think about lots of things ...

Fun new fabric

As I am sure many people can relate ... I have a serious fabric obsession. I sometimes can't help but purchase it!! If only the budget was limitless.

I also love reading other people's blogs, and today I came across some really fun fabric that I just had to order. It's from a lady who's blog is called The Silly BooDilly. I will try to post a link ...

The Silly BooDilly

(I can't believe that worked)

Anyway, she has some original fabric of her own design from Spoonflower. That might just be the coolest thing ever. I may just have to try that one day. Not now, but one day.

So anyway, I ordered some ... since I am so new at this whole blog thing = I am not sure how - or even if I am allowed to post pictures from her blog. Maybe I will figure it out one day. If you look through her blog - I ordered the blue bells and the orange grove. She shows pictures in a post on October 23, 2009. Very cool!!!

ta ta for now,
